Only on exceptional years when we can source the finest Cabernet fruit will we attempt to make a members favourite ‘The Clan’. This wine has been produced using a combination of Cabernet Sauvignon (75%) and our estate grown Petit Verdot (25%), a very traditional Capercaillie blend. Previous vintages the fruit had to be sourced outside of the Hunter Valley. We are proud of the fact this wine is 100% local grown.

The Clan - Cabernet Blend
Only on exceptional years when we can source the finest Cabernet fruit will we attempt to make a members favourite ‘The Clan’. This wine has been produced using a combination of Cabernet Sauvignon (75%) and our estate grown Petit Verdot (25%), a very traditional Capercaillie blend. Previous vintages the fruit had to be sourced outside of the Hunter Valley. We are proud of the fact this wine is 100% local grown. This wine received 14 months maturation in French hogsheads, 20% of which were new, and one and two year old French oak. This has produced a fuller bodied wine displaying savoury notes of pickled olive, blood plum and blackcurrant. This blend of varieties offers mid palate richness, weight and a long lingering finish.
